The Central Kai (中央神, Chūō-shin, lit. Central Kai) once known as the "Kai of the Lower Realm" is the title bestowed upon Deira after completing her training under the Grand Kai. A position with the duty to watch over and protect the Lower Realm, guiding it into prosperity.

Overview[]

Origins[]

This position came into existence due to the Grand Kai's inability to effectively monitor both the Lower Realm and Other World as he once had, a truth caused by the expansion of Universe 7. Similar to the positions of Grand Kai and Supreme Kai, both of which existed long before the Central Kai, the person chosen for this position was originally born on World Core as a Shin-jin. In the same fashion that the Supreme Kai is selected from Shinling's born of the rare Golden Kaiju Fruit, the Central Kai was also chosen for a similar reason.

Deira, as the only known person to hold the position of Central Kai, set the requirements for being chosen for its position and thus only those born of Silver Kaiju Fruit could be selected. This requirement sets this position even further away from others in the hierarchy as there has only ever been ONE Silver Kaiju Fruit, none coming before Deira. While it wouldn't have been odd for one of her disciples, the Cardinal Kais, to rise and take the position, none have done so. Even at the behest of the Grand Kai, none felt it their right to take the position, believing that the title of Central Kai no longer had any qualifying candidates.

Due to Deira sealing off the Central Sector the need for a new Central Kai wasn't deemed a high priority, allowing the Grand Kai to be lenient but should the time come for a new Central Kai be needed then he wouldn't hesitate to choose amongst them.

Role[]

The role of the Central Kai has changed as time has passed but the main ideologies have persisted throughout the years.

In the beginning, their role was to oversee the entirety of the Lower Realm and aid in the creation of new worlds. While world creation is normally the duty of the Supreme Kai they have, at times, requested assistance from the Central Kai as she's the most knowledgeable on the world of the living.

Ironically, because of this, the Central Kai is credited for the creation of most habitable worlds. While the Supreme Kai spent vast amounts of time creating galaxies, Deira created countless star systems that littered the space between them. A notable example of this is what's known today as the Saiya-System.

Sacred World of the Central Kai
Sacred World of the Central Kai

Deira oversees her universe far closer than any other Kai, a fact made no more evident than the placement of her Sacred Planet as it is the only one to exist outside of Otherworld. Its exact placement is the epicenter of the Big Bang.

As time passed and the universe continued to expand the role of the Central Kai was modified and given a new directive: Train a new branch of the divine hierarchy, four beings that would oversee each of the cardinal directions of the universe. This became the introduction to the Cardinal Kai' (North Kai, East Kai, South Kai, and West Kai).

The Central Kai remains the primary god of the living realm but now primarily observes the Central Sector, an area that takes up roughly 80% of the existing universe. The other 20% is divided up amongst the Cardinal Kais who each watch over 5% of their respective areas.

Unlike the Supreme Kai, the Central Kai is prohibited from directly interfering with conflicts concerning the world of the living (this is also the case for the Cardinal Kai'). In such circumstances the Central Kai's job is to report to the Grand Kai and from there, if deemed dangerous enough, will be reported to the Supreme Kai who make a final verdict on the matter. The only exception to this is if a god or other such entity is the cause of this disturbance.

Personality[]

As a God of Creation the Central Kai is inherently good-hearted, seeking to do all that they can for the betterment of their universe. On many matters they're forced into a position of neutrality, this is no more seen than in situations concerning conflict among the mortal worlds.

As a Kai they share the same emotions that mortals also possess, making them susceptible to negative emotions which may lead to revolts, fits of rage, an abuse of power, injustice, evil, and tyranny. While the Central Kai has never displayed any abuse of power or evil act she has defied the divine hierarchy by acting of her own volition when concerning mortals she's taken a liking to. Unlike Planetary Guardians, the Central Kai does not need to be pure of heart.

Deira, more than any other Kai of her universe, seems to be the most boastful and prideful of her abilities, bragging to even those of a higher position than herself about her accomplishments. Even with small wins, she tends to go on about it for some time. In the case of her match against Lord Beerus, she continues to boast about her wins despite the two never having a substantial number of consecutive wins over the other. This tends to get on the Destroyer's nerves, leading to another fight between them.

While having a sense of humor the Central Kai seems to take to Slap Stick more than a comedic joke. It has also been shown that the Central Kai is somewhere tone-deaf, enjoying odd sounds and becoming rather nonchalant about the songs her people have created.

Power[]

As a god, the Central Kai bears a certain high degree of power. Being born of a Silver Kaju Fruit, they aren't by nature the most powerful, that honor instead going to the Golden Kaiju Fruit that Supreme Kai are heir from. In the case of Deira, however, she was able to train and push her power far beyond that of the Supreme Kai. She exhibited so much raw potential that she's been asked many times to ascend to the position of Supreme Kai, but due to several reasons she turned down every offer.

Eventually, the power of the Central Kai even rivaled that of the God of Destruction. While their superiors the Angles and the Grand Priest himself are far stronger this is still an amazing feat for a Kai. While the destroyer god may not admit it out loud even he has respect for the Central Kai, an honor attained after Deira developed an alternate technique of Ultra Ego that utilized creation rather than Destruction.

The latest showing of power that the Central Kai exhibited was the use of magic so strong that it was able to completely seal away the Central Sector.

Special Abilities[]

  • Godly ki - As deities, they also have godly ki, which allows them to not only mask their true level of strength but also make their presence completely undetectable by mortals and Scouters.
  • Extended Lifespan - Similar to the Supreme Kai the Shin-jin that take up this mantal are gifted an extended life span that drastically outlive that of a normal Kai. This coupled with the Longevity that a Shin-jin born from a Silver Kaiju Fruit possess makes their lives spans roughly the same as a Supreme Kai's.
  • Telepathy – It is a way to communicate with others using one's mind. Users can also read the minds of the ones they communicate with, similar to telepathic eavesdropping.
    • Far-Seeing Arts – A technique which allows a god to see everything that happen in the lower realms.
  • Telekinesis – A technique that allows the user to manipulate objects and other people with the power of one's mind.
  • Kiai – The user affects the air currents around him with ki to produce powerful shock waves in order to strike the opponent.
  • Kai Kai – A technique that allows its user to instantly teleport to another planet, place or person. Unlike Instant Transmission, the user does not actually need to focus on a specific energy signature to use as a target. This means that the user can transport anywhere within and even outside the universe.
  • Healing - As a god of the Divine Hierarchy the Central Kai possesses the ability to rejuvenate anyone and restore them to full health instantly, even if they are on the brink of death.
  • Energy of Destruction - The Power of Destruction manifested as energy. (Primarily seen in Gods of Destruction)
    • Hakai - Despite not being a God of Destruction, Deira possess the ability of destruction, however, not to the degree of a true God of Destruction. Using the basic version of this ability by extending one of her hands towards a target she can cause the target to disintegrate into dust.
  • Energy of Creation - The Power of Creation manifested as energy. (Primarily seen in Supreme Kai')
    • Planetary and Celestial Manifestation - The ability to create planets, moons, stars and other such celestial beings through the usage of Creation Energy. This is an ability mainly seen only in Supreme Kai's and is known to eventually give rise to living beings such as mortals with the passage of time.
      • Advanced Planetary and Celestial Manifestation - An advanced version of the technique that further instills one's divine nature into the planets manifestation. The planets and stars born from this technique have the durability comparable to that of the Sacred World of the Kai's. However, because of this they seem to be more symbiotic with the life they produce, if the planets were to lose a massive portion of the beings born there then the planet will suffer. (These planets also seem to possess small amounts of divinity themselves and react favorably to coming into contact with those of divinity such as Gods.)
    • Sōzō - A technique invented by Deira in order to counteract the effects of Hakai. It's an energy shield that encases the users body in a protective layer of Creation and is activated automatically when coming into contact with Destruction Energy.
  • Magic Manipulation - The ability to conjure, manipulate, and sense magic.
    • Magic Materialization – A magical ability used to create physical matter out of thin air and is seen as a lesser form of Creation Energy.
    • Sealing Spell – Deira is an extremely skilled specialist in sealing magic. Her proficiency being so renowned that she even gave Beerus a few pointers on how to better use his Sealing Spell. Something that Beerus later used on Elder Kai.
      • Seal of the Central Kai - A hype-massive seal used in the confrontation against the Seven Dragon Lords. This is a dual seal made up of two alternate seals, the Seal of the Eternal Dragon and the Seal of the Sector.
        • Seal of the Eternal Dragon - A seal that suppresses the usage of magic used by Celestial Dragons and bounds any of that nature to the Sacred Planet of the Central Kai. As this is a seal specifically made to target the Seven Dragon Lords it doesn't affect mortals or souls from entering and exiting its boundary. However, its been shown that if a soul is dragonified to a certain degree then they're no longer able to exist this space either.
        • Seal of the Sector - This seals off the entirety of the Central Sector from the rest of the universe, even Otherworld. While some forms of energy such as highly advanced radios are able to pass through it the only known being to enter into this Seal is Ruttsu Karera.
  • Ultra Ego (Sōzō no Goku'i) - Deira possess the ability to utilize a variant of Ultra Ego. Contrary to Beerus, who activates this power by keeping his mind solely on destruction, Deira is able to activate her own version of this technique through keeping her mind on Creation. The more she creates the greater her power grows.
  • Potara Fusion - Possesses a pair of Potara Earrings (of which they obtain through unorthodox means) it is possible for the Central Kai to initiate a fusion. However, as this has never been shown it isn't known if the Fusion would be temporary or permanent
