Background[]

Corrupt Skali’s story is strikingly similar to the story of his unaltered, prime counterpart, although unlike Skali Prime, Corrupt Skali experienced a tipping point that caused his life to spiral into disaster following a rapid swell of madness and emotional instability. This tipping point occurred during Corrupt Skali’s additional training in the God Plane, after having formally completed his training with the Aspect of the Grand Priest. With the Aspect of the Priest gone, Corrupt Skali chose to remain in the God Plane for an untold amount of time, exactly like Skali Prime, during this period, a variant of Fused Zamasu known as Vegito Black, the Divine Fused Saiyan had traveled to Corrupt Skali’s timeline in his quest to eradicate all gods and mortals from existence itself. The variants of Zamasu that would become Vegito Black spent much more time and effort on the Zero Mortals Plan before eventually enacting it. Knowing that he could be Erased at the hands of the Omni-King, Zeno, the present version Zamasu decided to do more than simply steal Goku's body. He killed his master Gowasu, who was the Supreme Kai of Universe 10 at the time, thus making him the protector of a silver Time Ring, and stole this Time Ring in order to travel a year into the future before collecting and subsquently using the Wish Orbs, known as the Super Dragon Balls in most continuities, in order to make a wish that would swap his body with that of an alternate version of present Goku without the latter's prior knowledge, becoming the first Divine Saiyan, Goku Black, as he did in the main timeline. However, using the power of his stolen Time Ring, this Goku Black would proceed to travel another year into the future, and make another wish in order to gain the same immortality that Future Zamasu had gained in the Future Trunks Saga, with added immunity to existential erasure, which made it so that even Grand Zeno, the Omni-King, would not be able to stop his rampage. This Immortal Divine Saiyan would travel into the future timeline, and recruit Future Zamasu to his cause, with this Future Zamasu stealing the Time Ring that Future Gowasu guarded, swapping bodies with the Vegeta from Goku Black's alternate timeline, thereby becoming Vegeta Black, before the newly created Vegeta Black would also make himself immortal. After enacting their Zero Mortal Plan, Future Trunks nearly died in an encounter with Goku Black, his immortality rendering him virtually immune to the Saiyan's attacks. Trunks only survived with the assistance of Future Mai, who had rescued him only moments before the Immortal Divine Saiyan was able to slice him in half with a ki blade, preventing such a gruesome fate. Once he recovered, Future Trunks decided to travel to the past in order to find someone who could help him defeat such a powerful threat. Most of the events proceeded as normal until both Goku Black and Vegeta Black found their way into the present timeline, battling their original counterparts, who Future Trunks informed about their respective doppelgängers in order to make sure that they knew what they were dealing with, before forcefully being pulled back into the future timeline, though of course, they managed to destroy Trunks' time machine prior to their inevitable return. With Goku and Vegeta traveling to the future, they would immediately encounter both Goku Black and Vegeta Black for the second time, before the two variants of Zamasu began quickly overwhelming the heroes with both Super Saiyan during the first state of their second battle, though after a few power increases that resulted from their immortality healing any injuries, Goku Black and Vegeta Black would fully adapt to their stolen bodies, and synchronize their divine souls with their mortal vessels, completely erasing any mortal kin place of Zamasu's godly power, which allowed them to transform into Super Saiyan Rosé at the same time. After Goku Black was nearly sealed using the Evil Containment Wave, he and Vegeta Black opted to fuse using their pair of Potara, and Vegito Black, the Divine Fused Saiyan, was finally born in the wake of their merging. Goku and Vegeta would then fuse into Vegito in a desperate to stand against this threat, as they did in the original version of events, though this only served to add to the power of the opposing fusion. In an act of pure cruelty, Vegito Black would kill Future Trunks while restraining Vegito using telekinesis, and with Vegito's rage only fueling his power, he launched a God Final Kamehameha at Vegito Black, who survived, only to copy it, in order to create the Final Black Kamehameha, as well as the Final Kamehameha Rosé, ultimately killing Vegito with the latter of these two attacks. With Vegito dead, Goku and Vegeta are dead, as well, leaving all of humanity at the mercy of this deity. With all of Goku’s, Vegeta’s, Vegito's, Goku Black’s, Zamasu’s, and Fused Zamasu’s techniques, not to mention the immense power boost gained from fusion, as well as immortality on top of everything else, all gods and mortals were quickly wiped out across many, many timelines, including Corrupt Skali’s.

With all gods and mortals killed across his entire timeline, Corrupt Skali emerged from the God Plane to be greeted by an empty Multiverse, devoid of light and life alike, and when he tried to sense for Vyorus' ki, he could not find it. Teleporting to Vyorus' house on Venkyul Prime, all he found was his father's body scattered across every surface of the building's interior, a sight that made him sick to his stomach, as the memories of his own home were returned to his mind, although this time, each one would end with him snapping back to reality, bearing witness to what he always feared made manifest before his eyes. He thought about his promise to protect Venkyul Prime and all of its inhabitants, to protect his home, and his family. He thought about his purpose as the one who would protect the balance of the entire Multiverse. How was he meant to do all of that when everyone was dead? He had failed both of his responsibilities, and there was nothing that he could do anymore. The Wish Orbs were destroyed. There was no undoing what was already done. There was no way to bring anyone back. Everyone — everything — had been destroyed during Vegito Black's "cleansing" of the timelines, and Corrupt Skali was now the only living being in a hollowed-out Multiverse.

The realization shattered his mind, and his grief overwhelmed him like nothing he had ever felt before. As he powered up in his unshakeable anguish, his ki turned from pure white to pitch black, and his screams of rage and sorrow quickly changed into hysterical laughter. The kind-hearted Skali that he once was had been lost along with the rest of his timeline, and all he wished to do was seek and destroy whoever it was that had done this to him. The more he searched, the more he failed, and this only caused him to descend further into the depths of madness, his obsession with revenge being the only thing that he could focus on anymore. The only thing that remained of his life before he suffered such a loss was his name, as he fully abandoned all morality, responsibility, or attachment in his pursuit of Vegito Black. There was no way to reason with him, no way to overpower him, and no way to save him, as all who tried would be destroyed, with nothing remaining of the timelines that he visited. Wherever this variant of Skali was found, destruction was found in the wake of his departure. He left nothing behind.

Unlike Skali Prime, Corrupt Skali had not undone his immeasurable increase in power after emerging from the God Plane, as his desire to kill Vegito Black with his own two hands overwrote his desire for an enjoyable fight. Looking into Vegito Black’s history, he decided to train even further, learning how to use Zeno’s Erase upon witnessing his past uses of the ability countless times over. Stealing the silver Time Ring from his own timeline’s Universe 10, Corrupt Skali would erase his entire Multiverse from existence itself, before using the power of the Time Ring to travel into another timeline, stealing a new silver Time Ring and absorbing all of the energy within that Multiverse's past, present, and future, using the Time Ring to draw from the entire space-time continuum at once, before erasing the dead continuum afterwards. Corrupt Skali would do this eight more times until each hand was covered in five silver Time Rings, one on each finger. With this amount of Time Rings in his possession, Corrupt Skali began to sense the energy of another variant of himself in another timeline, which would be none other than Skali Prime. Intrigued by the possibility of another Skali, as he had believed that he was the only one in all of existence, exactly as Skali Prime did, he decided to fight him properly, rather than erasing him from existence beforehand.

Traveling to Skali Prime’s timeline, Corrupt Skali would suppress his ki, and render it untraceable to everyone in the entirety of the Multiverse that he was inhabiting at that point in time, collecting the Wish Orbs while remaining undetected. Once he had gathered all seven Wish Orbs, he made a wish that would erase Zeno from existence, were the Grand Priest killed under any circumstances. After this wish had been granted, Corrupt Skali would use the Kai Kai to teleport directly into Zeno's Palace, and battle the Grand Priest, while Zeno himself would enjoy the show. Inevitably, the Grand Priest would die in this battle, and Zeno would be erased in an instant afterwards. Holding the Grand Priest’s severed head by the hair, Corrupt Skali would sit on Zeno’s throne, and wait patiently for Skali Prime to arrive at the palace.

Upon seeing the Grand Priest's corpse on the ground before him, and his head in the hands of another Skali, Skali Prime would immediately begin to grow visibly angry. Eventually, a battle would ensue between Corrupt Skali and Skali Prime, although Corrupt Skali's insanity led to his loss, as he had chosen not to Erase Skali, instead Erasing Venkyul Prime, which triggered Skali Prime’s Beast transformation. With this increase in power and speed, Skali Prime was able to activate Time-Skip, the duration of which lasted a full ten seconds, using this period of time in order create a clone with the same level of power, who would then blitz Corrupt Skali to steal his Potara and ten silver Time Rings, before storing them in Skali Prime’s own space in the God Plane for safekeeping. In the meantime, Skali Prime would create a sealing sword remarkably similar in appearance to the Z Sword that the Elder Kai had been sealed in by Beerus, blitzing past Corrupt Skali as the sword would slice him, and pull him in, after which, Skali Prime would store this sword in the God Plane, as well. This sword would become the resting place of Corrupt Skali, as he remained within until Skali Prime became the Aeternal Super Saiyan, only to be Erased from existence, along with the sealing sword that Skali had trapped him in.

Appearance[]

Corrupt Skali’s appearance is almost identical to that of Skali Prime’s, with only a few minor differences overall. Unlike Skali Prime’s ki, which is white in appearance, and good in nature, Corrupt Skali’s ki is identical to that of Goku Black while the latter is in his base form. Corrupt Skali wears the same armor and mask as Skali Prime, although he is almost constantly smirking beneath this mask, as if mirroring the kind and caring smile that Skali Prime displays when he is happy, only to twist it into something much darker...

This variant of Skali often displays a very ominous expression, his eyes now reflecting the search for the being that had taken his timeline away, and the anger that these eyes contain directly opposes the compassion found within the eyes of his original counterpart, Skali Prime.

While in his Shadow Saiyan form, his eyes are pitch black and devoid of all light, while a layer of black fur covers most of his body, as the form is an advancement of Berserker Super Saiyan Rosé 5 Evolution Limit Breaker, though twisted through the power of Corrupt Skali, and fueled using his hatred of the Divine Fused Saiyan.

Personality[]

Corrupt Skali is a cruel and ruthless warrior, having abandoned his morals and attachments in his pursuit of revenge, and is shown to enjoy the brutality of combat. His decapitation of the Grand Priest, and the way he bisected his prime counterpart at the waist are proof of his cruelty. He often taunts and provokes his opponents, visibly amused at the sight of their anger and fear. Even when facing Skali Prime, whose full power was almost seventy-five percent of Corrupt Skali’s at the time, he continued to mock and goad his kind-hearted counterpart to the point that he eventually Erased Venkyul Prime from existence in Skali Prime’s timeline, though this was mostly due to his desire for an enjoyable battle being restored while fighting his other self, and these provocative tendencies inevitably led to Corrupt Skali’s defeat by Skali Prime upon the latter entering his Beast transformation for the first time after witnessing the Erasure of Venkyul Prime, as well as the people who inhabit it.

Powers/Abilities[]

Most of Corrupt Skali’s powers, abilities, techniques, and transformations are exactly the same as Skali Prime’s, so in order to avoid over-complicating this and confusing anyone, I will only be listing powers and abilities that are unique to Corrupt Skali, of which there are four (technically five, though the last one has a bit more to it than the rest).

Power[]

Corrupt Skali's power is considerably greater than that of his prime counterpart, as he had made a decision not to make the wish that would return his power to a slightly higher level than the Aspect of the Grand Priest's, keeping everything that he gained during his training in the God Plane. With such immeasurable power, Corrupt Skali, while powering up to his base form's limit, was capable of destroying his native Multiverse entirely, shattering the fabric of the space-time continuum simply through the exertion of his own divine energy. As an immortal being, Corrupt Skali is unable to be killed through most conventional techniques or abilities, and even when nothing remains of his body, he will still be able to regenerate as usual, the only exception to this rule of course being the Erase ability that Grand Zeno, the Omni-King uses, in addition to the Eradicate technique of the Grand Priest, as Skali Prime, upon achieving the power of Aeternal Super Saiyan, was able to Erase his corrupted counterpart through the use of the same ability that the Omni-King uses, ending the rampage of his alternate self.

In regards to his overall power, Corrupt Skali possesses roughly seventy-five percent (75%) more power than his prime counterpart does, as Skali Prime's full power, at least in his base form, was only twenty-five percent (25%) of his counterpart's base power, as Corrupt Skali was able to move faster than Skali Prime could perceive during their first and final battle, allowing him to approach his opponent without the need to use his own Time-Skip. In his Shadow Saiyan transformation, Corrupt Skali exudes an immensely malevolent and dreadful aura that is capable of acting as barrier with which to defend from attacks, and will occasionally take on the appearance of a far more monstrous version of his own face, giving him the visage of a truly demonic deity.

Techniques and Special Abilities[]

Evil Godly Ki: Similar to Goku Black, Corrupt Skali possesses divine energy that was warped as a result of his evil intent, changing its color from pure white, as it originally was, to pitch black, which is what it is now.

  • Shadow Saiyan: An upgrade of Berserker Super Saiyan Rosé 5 Evolution Limit Breaker, this transformation harnesses Corrupt Skali’s evil ki, and channels it into a unique form that is devoid of any and all light. While the fur, hair, tail, eyes, and aura seen in this form’s predecessor take on a rather dark shade of pink, they are replaced with an abyssal black color in this transformation, as Corrupt Skali’s evil godly ki is directly used as a source of power. Given that the grief he felt as a result of losing everything that he valued at the hands of Vegito Black was what drove him to such extreme malevolence in the first place, and began his journey down the path of pure evil, Corrupt Skali had developed a deep and intrinsic hatred of the Divine Fused Saiyan, allowing him to use the resulting anger in order to gain even greater power, which eventually led to the creation of this form. A shadowy figure made from the black aura that Corrupt Skali produces with his own ki will often accompany this particular form, giving him the appearance of one who embodies the concept of malevolence itself.
  • Blackened Blade: While in his base form or Shadow Saiyan transformation, Corrupt Skali’s ki blade takes on a pitch black coloration, earning it the title of the “Blackened Blade.” Although it functions identically to a normal ki blade while Corrupt Skali is in his base form, it becomes significantly enhanced when used in conjunction with the Shadow Saiyan transformation, increasing its power to the point that it becomes capable of effortlessly cutting anything into pieces, as the hatred within Corrupt Skali’s heart amplifies the power of his ki, thus refining his Blackened Blade into a longer and sharper form, even allowing his slashes to produce blade-like waves of energy that greatly increase the range of his swipes.
  • Fear Aura: The immense amount of malice that Corrupt Skali has, combined with his immeasurable and overwhelming power, will often manifest in the aura that surrounds himself, causing anyone who is capable of sensing this variant’s godly ki to feel as though they are going to die. While powering up, or simply using his Shadow Saiyan transformation, Corrupt Skali’s aura will often shape itself into a massive pillar of swirling black energy that contains a monstrous version of his very own visage, further adding to the fear that he elicits with such a sheer amount of malevolent power.

Ruinous Scythe: Despite the fact that Skali Prime learned this technique after their battle, Corrupt Skali is its inventor, which is why I have decided to list it here. Corrupt Skali used this ability to bisect his counterpart at the waist with a blade-like wave of energy fired from this construct of ki. This technique is nearly identical to Goku Black's Sickle of Sorrow, though unlike the ability that inspired it, the Ruinous Scythe is made purely from the Energy of Destruction, allowing its wielder to disintegrate anything aside from people with complete immortality, such as Corrupt Skali himself, and his original counterpart, Skali Prime.

Trivia[]

  • In the first iteration of this story, I had not planned on Corrupt Skali being a major antagonist, with Kallabash initially filling that role. However, after many years, and a rewrite from scratch, I came up with the idea of another Skali having gone down a darker path, creating the concept that evolved into Corrupt Skali.
  • Corrupt Skali and Skali Prime are the only two variants of Skali in all of existence, which includes each and every multiverse, timeline, reality, and existence itself. This is due to Vegito Black’s arrival in Corrupt Skali’s timeline actually forcing the flow of time to branch into two separate parallel timelines, one where Skali Prime lived as normal, and the other being where Corrupt Skali was created. This split in the time stream was caused by Vegito Black’s possession of a Time Ring in addition to the fact that Goku Black (in the anime) is a living paradox, since present Zamasu was destroyed with Beerus' own two hands before the point at which he became Goku Black in the present timeline. As a result of Future Zamasu (Vegeta Black in this particular timeline) not, in fact, being a living paradox, and then fusing with Goku Black at some point, Vegito Black is an anomalous being that exists in a state between "meant to be gone" and "meant to be here," so every timeline that he travels to with the power of the Time Rings (plural, because Vegeta Black stole one from the future timeline/original timeline) will immediately split into a branch, and leave the original timeline unaffected in its entirety. As the two are flowing in parallel with one another, the same amount of time will pass between each timeline, though the events in both are often drastically different, such as Corrupt Skali and his counterpart of Skali Prime.
  • With Corrupt Skali sharing the natural understanding and possession of godly energy that allowed Skali Prime to become what he is, its appearance shifted from the pure white that it originally was to the same pitch black that many associate with Goku Black when the latter is in his base form. Since Goku Black is the only instance of a character with evil and godly ki types combined, I decided to use his ki color for Corrupt Skali’s evil aura.
  • Despite possessing both Time-Skip and Pure Progress, as his main counterpart does, Corrupt Skali was overpowered by Skali Prime when the latter used his Time-Skip due to the indomitable will that Skali Prime possessed. Corrupt Skali's desire for revenge, in addition to the endless frustration it caused him after failing to locate Vegito Black, began to eat away at his willpower, and he was even shown to be desperate during his battle with Skali Prime, initially intending to destroy his other self, though later offering to recruit him to his cause once he realized that he could only win if he Erased his original counterpart, something he did not want to do in order to enjoy their battle as much as the power gap would allow him to. This is all to say that power is not why he lost, rather that he decided to prolong the fight, provoke his unaltered variant, and even went as far as Erasing the planet that they each grew up on, all of which contributed to his defeat at the hands of Skali Prime. He talked too big a game for his own good, and it cost him the battle, as well as his very existence once Skali Prime became the Aeternal Super Saiyan.
