Dense Ki

Dense Ki (密集気), sometimes referred to as God-like Ki (神おそらく気), is a condensed variant of Ki found in powerful beings. Though extremely difficult to use some have even learned to harness this energy, such as the Saiyan Hybrids Ruttsu and Gohan through the use of Divine Super Saiyan and it's variants.

Overview[]

Dense Ki is among the purest form of Ki in the Alterverse and used only by those capable of withstanding its immense power. Due to its distinct nature it can only be sensed within a certain radius of it's user, this is known as it's Sensory Limit. However, through excessive use of Dense Ki one can learn to sense it outside of this limit. This Heightened Ki Sense is even capable of allowing one to sense Dense Ki even when it's not in use, though they must be within the Sensory Limit to do this. Other beings have demonstrated the ability to sense this energy without possessing access to Dense Ki at all, such as the Primal Saiyan Sativa who is able to do so through deep meditation.

Unlike most Ki variants, Dense Ki doesn't come in a variety of different colors. This speaks to it's pure nature as no matter how corrupted a individual may be, Dense Ki is always shown in a golden hue. When brought forth Dense Ki flows almost like a liquid and unlike normal Ki it doesn't radiate away from the body in excessive amounts, in fact, it would take a lot of exertion to force it away from its user. Due to it's pressure Dense Ki doesn't flow upward but rather downward.

Cultivation[]

All mortals are born with the potential to cultivate Dense Ki, however, the ability to manipulate this energy is not as easy to attain. Unlike God Ki, there isn't a ritual to gain it's power, rather you require a substantial amount conventional Ki and time. Unlike any other variant in the Alterverse, Dense Ki is time sensitive, meaning that even if you possess the amount of Ki needed to create it you still require a notable amount of time for it to begin cultivating. The rate at which its created is far slower than any other, even more so than God Ki.

Even if one possesses a plethora of Dense Ki, it means nothing if they can't access it, which is the case for a mass majority of Ki users. To standard practitioners of Ki, Dense Ki is considered a great hindrance to their progress, this is because in order to create Dense Ki you must sacrifice large amounts of Ki to do so. Thus, for beings unable to utilize Dense Ki there is no benefit, only a lose in their usable source of energy. Due to this being a natural process they're incapable of stopping this lose in Ki and it only becomes harder with more Ki as this directly translates to the cultivation of more Dense Ki.

Abilities[]

Dense Ki is capable of fending off negative energies, an ability known as Corruption Nullification. Corrupt forms of Ki like that of Cumber, an Evil Saiyan, and the Aura of a Primal Demon God have their negative effect nullified. However, the time required to nullify these effects depends on the energies origin. Cumber's Evil Aura is relatively easy to counter due to it's standard Ki origin, however, the corruption of a Primal Demon God is vastly more difficult to counter than that of an Ancient Saiyan like Cumber. This is related to the fact that Primal Demon God Ki is the result of not only God Ki, which is already a difficult energy to counter, but also Magic.

Another innate ability is Dense Ki's inability to be affected by lesser forms of Ki. Due to the structure of its energy it becomes impossible for conventional Ki to effect it in any way. Keep in mind that this fact is only true for basic types of Ki such as Regular/Good Ki and Evil Ki. Thus it's useless against the likes of God Ki, Magic, and any other form of energy derived from this source such as God of Destruction Ki and Celestial Magic. Agin-Ki is also capable of bypassing this due to its own ability to annihilate Ki upon contact, though Dense Ki is able to lessening these effects substantially.

Alternate-Ki Interactions[]

God Ki[]

Dense Ki and God Ki, while not innately opposing forces, can cause a hyper-reaction under certain criteria. When God Ki of one individual interacts with Dense Ki of another these energies act as Ki normally would under these conditions, however, this fact changes when both the Dense Ki and God Ki are of the SAME individual. In this situation the two energies become highly volatile, reacting extremely to each others presence when used in conjunction of one another. This is believed to be because of God Ki's tendency to bond with mortal Ki and when used with normal Ki this is fine, resulting in an even greater boost in power yet Dense Ki doesn't react the same way. Dense Ki, as an extremely stable energy, has no room to bond with anything else and when forced upon it causes the energies to run rampant as God Ki tries to combine. This hyper-reaction happens all in an instant, resulting in each both becoming energized, increasing their destructive potential.

While this phenomena all sounds like another chance to use as a power up, this is would be impossible. Following this reaction the Dense Ki would forcibly return back the users soul, damaging it severely while the God Ki would be repelled away from the user at nigh incomprehensible speeds. Both energy sources would be disrupted, temporarily disconnecting them from these sources. No amount of Ki-Control is capable of manipulating this phenomenon as its purely a reaction between these powers rather than a usage of these powers themselves. Trying to combine these would be a fool's' errand.

Composition[]

Dense-Ki, just like standard Ki, can be divided up into three main sub-energies:

Genki; Energy generated passively through possessing a Soul
Yūki; Energy generated passively through using a Body
Shōki; Energy generated passively through using a Mind

Due to the effects of LAW when Ki is subjected to pressure it begins condensing into a resilient structure, this structure is known as Dense Ki.

Types[]

Currently there are two alternate forms of Dense Ki. They are:

Absoralium: a crystalline structure brought about through Dense Ki absorbing free roaming Yūki and Shōki energies from the area around it; the soul must've passed on for this process to occur
- Diluted Absoralium: a refined and more stable variant of Absoralium; created by the Primal Saiyans
- Exudium: An artificial and highly volatile variant of Absoralium; created by the Superior Saiyans
- Nullium: An alloy of Absoralium and another ore which possesses the ability to disassemble alternate forms of Ki, such as God Ki, by disturbing the energy on a subatomic level; created by Ruttsu Karera as he traversed the multiverse
God-Dense Ki: an extremely unstable bonding of dense and godly energies; hypothetically powerful but short lived as Dense Ki rejects God Ki on a fundamental level

Amount[]

The amount of Dense Ki varies from individual to individual. Usually, non-trained beings have no traces of this variant but if they're born under the right condition they can begin cultivating it even before birth. Through training one can increase the amount they possess substantially. The amount of Dense Ki doesn't directly correspond to their Power Level. While the greater the amount does mean a higher reading it would be foolish to base it on this metric as a single unit of Dense Ki is far more destructive than a single unit of standard Ki yet they're measured as the same. For this reason scouters aren't suggested.

Dense Ki is extremely powerful, capable of affect the surrounding through the likes of powerful gusts of wind and even shaking of the terrain. While possessing power to shake a universe it's unlikely to cause any rippling effects due to being so concentrated.

When used against energy similar to itself a user must possess roughly twice as much energy as their opponent to be unaffiliated by it.

In enough quantities Dense Ki is capable of ripping Ki apart into its primary energies and this force only gets more powerful the closer you get to it. So much so that within a certain distance it'll begin doing the same to Ki stored away with their soul.

Usage[]

Attacks[]

Dense Ki, just like many other forms of Ki, can be used to enhance the combat abilities of the wielder. Usually to increase their strength, speed, and much more. By exerting the energy outside of their bodies they're able to form of beams, blades, discs, rings, spheres, or explosions.

Transformations[]

Depending on their genetics, certain beings can only access Dense Ki via a transformation. A notable example of this are the Saiyans who use a plethora of transformation to adapt in combat. By transforming, a being can change the limits of their body. Effects of these transformations usually include alterations in strength and ki capacity as well as speed and durability.

Divine Super Saiyan: a form used to grant access to Dense Ki; very little success in this regard
- Altered Divine Super Saiyan: an altered state of the standard Divine Super Saiyan form used by Ruttsu Karera; this form is many times more powerful than that of the standard form, capable of rivaling Super Saiyan God
  - Type Dwarf: a lesser form of Divine Super Saiyan born from a depletion in Dense Ki
  - Type Magnis: a more powerful variant created through the fusing of two separate pools of Ki

Ki Control[]

As stated before, most beings cannot freely control this variant of ki, even after years of training, but even those who can have difficulty manipulating it. Dense Ki is a very strenuous energy to bring forth and even harder to maintain control over. If the body of the user isn't ready for its power the energy will inflict damage to point of crippling them or even killing them. It's so difficult in fact that even God Ki users have admitted that divine energy is vastly easier to manage.

Many who can manipulate Dense Ki require a highly resilient and adaptive body in order to overcome the backlash of its power. One must also possess immense control over the flow of ki within their bodies in order to resist the second side effect of Dense Ki known as Reverse Ki Emissions. This is due to the density of the Ki and it's predisposition to remain beneath normal Ki. These tendencies cause immense damage to the user and causes power fluctuations until the flow of energy is realigned. However, with training one can overcoming this downside.

Dense Ki doesn't leak away from the body. While it can form an aura it'll cling to the body rather than dissipate. Due to this characteristic a user doesn't need to worry about losing power over time and is one of the main reasons behind why Dense Ki is so formidable, especially when compared to forms like Super Saiyan Blue which uses God Ki. When that form contains all their Ki their power jumps exponentially, however, Dense Ki naturally does this.

Unlike the God Ki, Dense Ki doesn't allow for a major shift in power. While forms like Super Saiyan Blue allow its user to freely lower or increase their power with ease, forms like Divine Super Saiyan, a Dense Ki based transformation, is incapable of lowering their power below a certain threshold. Additionally, techniques such as Kaio-Ken are ill suited to be used alongside Dense Ki as the energy will lash out uncontrollably.

Ki Sense[]

Without Heightened Ki Sense, ki users aren't able to sense Dense Ki outside of it's Sensory Limit. Those outside the radius will only feel intense pressure. The closer someone gets the heavier the pressure becomes, similar to God Ki.

Defense/Guard[]

Dense Ki boasts an impressive level of defense, second only to God Ki. When utilizing Dense Ki one's defense is guaranteed at a certain threshold, even if one lets their guard down the energy will still protect its user as it would if their guard was up. Unfortunately, due to this Dense Ki is rather inexorable in its ability to change its level of defense. Meaning that it take substantially longer to higher ones guard then it would normally but it wont lower if they're distracted either.

Ki Harvest[]

Dense Ki is incapable of being forcibly harvested or stolen. Unlike normal Ki, which flows naturally throughout the body, Dense Ki resides within the soul of the user unless brought forth. Even then, Dense Ki will latch itself to its creator, the more they try to rip it way the more it resists. While you can have them relinquish it to you willingly most are incapable of manipulating their Dense Ki, thus are unable to properly give it up. The only method of truly stealing Dense Ki is by collecting it after death. Unlike normal Ki, Dense Ki is unable to pass on with the soul to the after life, leaving it behind and ready to be harvested.
