East Kai (東ひがしの界かい王おう, Higashi no Kaiō, lit. "East King of Worlds") is a short, dumpy Kai who rules over the East Area of the universe.

East Kai wears red Jackie Ohh sunglasses. She has red hair but wears a blonde wig, as seen during the Other World Tournament.

Personality[]

She appears to have a really big ego. She is very strict with her students and often does not accept failure. East Kai loves her jet bike and even takes on Goku in a race at one point. According to West Kai and South Kai, she loves to go racing and will search for any excuse to go racing.

Her fighters are known for their exceptional speed. Arqua is apparently her strongest fighter, but he is no match for Goku. After Goku defeated Arqua (who was her last fighter in the Other World Tournament), she punishes him and several of her other fighters, including Chapuchai, by making him run a thousand laps around Grand Kai's mansion. However, seeing Goku and Pikkon fighting, she is soon able to understand why her fighters lost.

Years later, in Dragon Ball GT, East Kai is shown gardening, still on Grand Kai's Planet, when Goku asks King Kai to persuade people across the universe to give some of their energy to form a Super Ultra Spirit Bomb.

Trivia[]

East Kai is never mentioned in the manga, only North Kai and South Kai are.
She is similar to West Supreme Kai as she is the only female among the Kais that represent the four Cardinal Directions, while West Supreme Kai is the only female among the Supreme Kais that represent the four Cardinal Directions. However, they each represent opposing Cardinal Directions, specifically East and West.
- She and Chronoa (before her promotion to Supreme Kai of Time) are the only known female Kais of Universe 7 (as it is unknown if West Supreme Kai was ever a Kai or was one of those rare Core Persons born Kaiju's golden fruit who are automatically chosen to become Supreme Kai).
- Wairu is also female, though she actually just an Human-type Earthling who uses the Supreme Kai Berserker Hero Avatar in Dragon Ball Heroes.
