Enhanced Ki Sense is a technique used by Richie and most of the Suecra Hybrids in Dragonball: Gameplay.
Ki sensing is the ability to sense the location, life force, and power level of anyone, the stronger and closer the enemy, the more powerful the sensation. However, this strange natural ability of Suecra allows the user to literally smell life energy, although in some cases, Richie has stated the villains of the series give her a bad taste in her mouth (literally), which would support the theory that she can taste or smell the darkness in their hearts. The most prominent example of that would be in the Yami Marik Saga, when Richie states Marik makes her mouth feel gritty, like she "ate a bowl of sand and darkness".
Some character's energies supposedly change in taste and smell as the series goes on, usually due to driving away an evil spirit poessing them.
