— Gon Soku against Furowa.

Origins[]

Early Life & Background[]

Gon Soku was born on the planet Verdura, a different version of Planet Sadala where Saiyans never leaved their homeworld and took over Planet Tuffle, called Planet Verdura. In this reality, the Saiyans are named "Verdurians" while the Tuffles are known as "Frutalians" from the "Planet Fruta". Unlike the Saiyans, Verdurians are capable of displaying peaceful tactics and diplomatic alliances while retaining their warrior-like strategies; their behaviors are more similar to the Saiyans from Universe 6 and are therefore less aggressive and far from savages. It is only during battles, their ravenous hunger for battles starts to show and are perhaps more vicious and brutal than most Saiyans from the regular timeline. Both worlds also are great allied partners and trade very often goods to each others, supporting the other when in need. In contrast, Planet Verdura does not share a similar fate like Planet Vegeta but was a target of the cruel tyrant Furowa and his Interplanetary Alliance Corporation in political wars and invasions for numerous decades. In a very last ditch of efforts mixed with anger and despair, Furowa's patience is at his limits and decided to take matter himself by sending a series of large-scale invasions toward Planet Verdura and Planet Fruta, which lasted for months. Realizing the combined might of the alliance, Furowa became desperate and enraged to the point he finally revealed a portion of his true mighty power by charging himself up and forming his signature technique, Cataclysm Sphere, ready to launch it to Planet Verdura. Upon realizing the impending doom, Verdura's entire started to evacuate while the soldiers protected the people from the raiding enemies from the tyrant's armies. Meanwhile, the Frutalians managed to significantly weaken the Cataclysm Sphere's growth by firing a powerful series of energy beams via their technologies, temporary halting the process of the energy ball.

The Search for the Draconic Spheres[]

At some point in his life, Soku encountered a young teenager girl named Shorts, who was on the search of the mystical Draconic Spheres which allows a person to have a wish granted by an Immortal Drake. He agreed and teamed up with the young girl, becoming a powerful duo: Soku's superhuman abilities and great techniques combined with Shorts' incredible scientific knowledge and creating various gadgets.

The duo would then encounter various people who would join their causes and thus forming a solid group called the "Dragon Gang": the initial members of the group consist of Shokurin (Krillin), Master Tortuga (Roshi), Rayjobei (Yajirobe), Tiān-Jīnfàn (Tien Shinhan) Chayom (Yamcha) and Meel (Launch).

Adventures & Tournaments[]

Soku would eventually partake in many adventures to help and save various people across the world, making new allies and creating friendship bonds with various individuals but would also enter in various tournaments to prove his fighting skills over the years. Unlike his main counterpart, the Tien Shinhan Saga is widely different due to the Crane School being on good terms with the Turtle School, and Master Wutaidou is still alive after the first King Piccolo war, with the Tournament Saga being merged with the Tien Shinhan Saga. Most of the adventures, such as the Fortuneteller Baba Saga and most of the Red Ribbon Army Saga happened in different circumstances and quite brief, while the Emperor Pilaf Saga is the trigger point for the Piccolo Saga in the future.

Rise of the Were Ape[]

Like Goku, he also transformed into a giant Were Ape the moment he noticed a full moon and displayed a berserk-like behavior and started to wreck everything around him. Unlike his regular counterpart, Soku didn't killed his adoptive caretaker, Elder Master Hango but Soku injured his friends during his raging transformation, racking him with immense guilt for months and never told anyone about this until he finally confessed his feelings to his allies. His friends were very supportive to him during this phase of his life and would later recover from the oppressing remorse

Saiyan Invasions Saga[]

Kondai's Arrival Story Arc[]

When a Verdurian with the name of "Kondai" arrived on Earth he was surprised the planet wasn't conquered yet and decided to seek the presence of his long lost brother who he hasn't seen in many years by carving his way through the cities in a rather troublesome method. Upon finding out his said brother, who is now a caring father and beloved martial artist by everyone, it was utterly baffling the outer space warrior. Kondai went to tell Soku about everything of their race's origins as well and how Furowa destroyed their homeworld, with their true purpose is to recreate the Verdurian race; Soku was supposed to mate with a female to reproduce various Verdurian hybrids so they could repopulate their race back to normal. And finally, Kondai told Soku that he is in fact his biological older brother, greatly shocking everyone present. Kondai also explained that the Verdurian Army sent him to to retrieve at least Soku and bring him back to the army so they can fight the true enemy, even if it's by force. On top of all this, Kondai told the true name of Soku being "Karoten", much to his already surprised state.

"DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH HIM!"
— Soku after Kondai threatened to take his son.

Soku wasn't into the idea of joining his race's peers and becoming a soldier for a war he wasn't part of, believing there has to be other alternatives. Kondai pressured him further more with an ultimatum: if he isn't coming with him then he will take his young son by force, Hango, to raise the child into a powerful warrior. This threat was enough for Soku to become angered and flashed a boost of powered up ki in his body, suddenly creating a small shockwave that suprised his older brother's initial expectations and views about Soku being weaker. Fearful but determined, Soku then challenged his brother in a fight: he would have to prove his might against Kondai by fighting him and win against him. Kondai agreed but states the combat must be a death battle, because even if he would lose to the fight he would literally go for Hango and bring him to the Verdurian Army. Soku reluctantly accepted this condition, however he had a secret plan in his mind which can be useful later and give him the upper hand. Enjoying the challenge, Kondai asked how much time Soku needs to be ready and the latter replied at least 1 month to be ready at peak, something Kondai agreed upon and thus flied back to his space pod to report of the new information to his superiors.

For an entire month, Soku trained much harder under stress and anxiety but the support of his friends really boosted his confidence and determination. Under the suggestion of his master "Perverse Tortoise", Soku decided to rather relax mentally instead and performs several phase of meditation in order to stabilize his inner ki.

Personality[]

Youth Years[]

Gon Soku's appearance is technically the same as his mainline counterpart's younger days in terms of physical appearance, although Soku's clothing were vastly different as Soku wore often violet or purple clothing from his local martial art school and bright red when he was using his traditional clothing uniform in his house. After losing his tail, Soku's appearance didn't changed much.

Teenager Years[]

In his teenage years, Soku decided to feel different and get his hair redone with a haircut, incredibly similar to his eldest son but with a few of his classic hair bangs left. He would also train much more, to the point his muscular frame would be more noticeable. Soku would often wear his traditional clothes, entirely bright red and a purple shirt beneath his gi. According to him, the red symbolizes the "inner beast within that wants to get out of his body", fitting as he became more rebellious during this period of his life.

Adult Years[]

Soku became much more humble and cooled off of his rebellious phase after maturing, especially in the aftermath of his battle against Furowa. His view on fighting drastically changed and he became more serious in battles, dedicating himself to train harder and master himself for the rest of his life. He also became more of a "hero-behaved savior" toward Earth's inhabitants after learning about the Galactic Patrol and the responsibilities as a protector of the planet.

Supportive Techniques[]

  • Power Charging: Like every fighters and warriors alike, Gon Soku charges his ki via focusing and concentrating it inside his body. Unlike his mainline counterpart, Soku learned how to not "spill any energy out of his body", containing his energy inside his body with mental and physical focus. He learned it at an even early age.
  • Crimson Burst: Gon Soku's version of the Kaio-ken. Like his regular counterpart, Gon Soku knows how to use the technique and has great control over the technique but seems to show an extensive knowledge and greater mastery than his mainline counterpart, to the point Gon Soku seems to suffer less from the strains of the Crimson Burst's effects. He also created various variations of the technique, each versions having it's unique positives and negatives traits.
    • Crimson Flash: By mixing Crimson Burst and Sun's Mind together, Gon Soku creates a shining version of Crimson Burst to blind his enemy and burn them with the power of the Sun as well using the crimson-yellow aura to empower himself and attack much more stronger against his blinded foes. Soku doesn't always require to put his hands close to his hands but still has to mentally concentrate his ki into his mind to use the blinding light. Also known as "Bright Flash", "Bright Crimson" or "Scarlet Star".
    • Crimson Burst - Selective Mode: Also known as "Selective Crimson Burst".
    • Crimson Burst - Great Control: After 2 years of intense meditation and physical training, Gon Soku managed to controlled perfectly his Crimson Burst skills by carefully use the technique without greatly damaging his body.
      • Crimson Burst - Mastered Control: Also known as "Zen Crimson Burst". Years of intense dedication and careful training allowed Gon Soku to finally use a perfected version of his Super Crimson Burst.

Crimson Burst - Mastered Control: Also known as "Zen Crimson Burst". Years of intense dedication and careful training allowed Gon Soku to finally use a perfected version of his Super Crimson Burst.
  • Sun's Mind: Gon Soku's version of the Taiyōken, also known as "Sun's Flash" Gon Soku bring his open hands near his head and concentrate his ki so much to be bright enough and potentially damage his foes' eyesight, leading them temporary blind or worst. By blinding his opponents, Gon can follow up with other techniques and taking advantage of the vulnerable states of his enemies. Often used as a last resort or surprise attacks.
    • Sun's Mind - Focused Mode: Also known as "Focus Flash". Soku realized the technique's flaw being the potential danger to blind not only enemies but also his surrounding allies, which happened to be indeed correct the moment he accidently blinded Sango and Shokurin in the battle against Furowa, which gave the villainous emperor the opportunity to impale Shokurin and then obliterate him. After reflecting on his mistake, Soku decided to create a different variation of the Sun's Mind entirely focusing on a single enemy without blinding his allies.
    • Sun's Mind - Solar Geyser: By focusing his ki intensely in the shape of a small dome around himself, Soku can create a massive energy wave of high temperatures that can both blind his foes but also burn them. This is done by combining his Sun's Mind with the Rising Energy Strike he learned from King Verdura IV.

Transformations & Forms[]

  • Were Ape: Happened only when Soku is exposed under a full moon's light, he is often nicknamed as "Were-Ape" because of how his transformation triggers under the moon's influence. His appearance heavily changes during the first seconds of the transformation: his humanoid teeth cracks and falls from his gums, only to be replaced by more robust and fang-like teeth, his muscular mass increases drastically and beyond a human's mass, his body hair grows faster and covers his entire body and his size becomes tremendously taller, higher and bigger which can reach over 20 feet and beyond in the span of less than a minute. Because of the transformation, Soku's personality drastically changes and the sole emotion he displays is an unending, indomitable rage against anyone and anything; therefore he is unable to distinguish who is friend or foe during this form. Depending on the moon's appearance and natural environment's temperature, his Were-Ape transformation can differ heavily as a result: for instance, under a regular bright full moon, Soku will fully transform into his Were-Ape form in less than a minute but if the moon's light is blocked by clouds or a large object, it will take much more time for him to transform and thus slowed down.
    • Were Ape - Incomplete Control:
  • Golden Bright: Soku calls his transformation "Golden Bright" because of how his hair turns golden but he since he didn't knew his Verdurian origins at the time, he thus never knew of the infamous Super Verdurian legend. His power level drastically increases, thus greatly enhancing his physical abilities and his ki techniques. While he never would achieve the subsequent transformations in his life, he would however train his Golden Bright's potential by increasing it's limits and thus create his own variations.

States & Modes[]

  • Relaxed State:
    • Zen State: Albeit called "Calm Mind Mode" by Soku.
  • Genki Mode: Gon Soku requires to create a Soul Sphere of any size and absorbs it, which empowers his power level drastically but also allows him to unlock other techniques and forms. His entire body glows in a blueish aura and his hands are surrounded with a focused light blue aura around his fists, similar to the Zen State's appearance. Depending on the energy quantity of the Soul Sphere, the state's time limit and enhancements can be different and the aura's appearance may differ: a small Soul Sphere will result having his body covered under a veil of light blue color with slight sparks around him, while a medium-sized Soul Sphere will give Soku a more intense navy blue colored aura around his body and more bio-electricity sparking around him while an even bigger Soul Sphere will turn his entire body nigh-marine blue-like and his fists are surrounded with massive orb-like spheres of pure ki.
  • Golden Bright - Partial Mode: A state where Gon Soku only uses a partial amount of his Golden Bright form without fully entering into the form completely, thus allowing Soku to save his stamina despite not being near as powerful when transforming. It doesn't count as a transformation because his appearance does not change. Soku often uses the Partial Mode in order to save energy, unless his foes are more dangerous and stronger then he will use his Golden Bright form.
  • Golden Bright - Tainted Flame: Also known as "Dark Light", it is Gon Soku's version of the False Super Saiyan form, a state where a Saiyan fails to fully transform into a Super Saiyan (therefore not counting as a transformation and most likely to be an incomplete state). Kondai and Ottavino mentioned Gon Soku is incredibly violent and cannot discern his allies or foes during this frenzy state, also mentioning Soku's hair turning oddly dark golden with violent surges of bio-lightning around his body.

Relationships[]

Family/Relatives[]

  • Unnamed Parents: Soku never explained much about his parents, for he never knew them. According to King Verdura IV, they died in a war against Furowa's army. Verdura claims Soku looked "identically like his father with the heart of his mother" and Verdura IV doesn't remember their names. Kondai never mentioned their names, talking about them hurts his feelings and a possible hint that something must have happened to them. Upon reaching the Hereafter Realm, Soku finally reunited with his parents and learning their true names, although he has yet to revealed them to anyone as a way to respect them.
  • Kondai: The alternate version of Raditz. Unlike in the main timeline's similar events, he never was slain by his younger brother and rather supported his cause to stay on Earth, becoming a part-time protector as well. He still calls Soku by his birth name due to habit. Kondai is a married with a female Saiyan warrior and has ten children. He is older than Soku by five years. Ever since arriving on Earth, Kondai started to developped an odd taste for Earth's names for days and weeks: since Planet Verdura's week system is different, Kondai decided to name his techniques after Earth's days, weeks and holidays because he thought they sound "funny" to his tastes. It became a recurring joke where his friends and allies mocks his poor choice of technique naming.
  • Unnamed Siblings: According to Kondai, the presence of siblings was briefly mentioned in a conversation with Soku. Those unnamed siblings are much older than he and Soku are, although their ages and names were never mentioned since he never knew them. Verdura IV elaborated on the matter by explaining Kondai would be either the 3rd or 4th oldest of the family's children while Soku is the youngest. Kondai never really remembered his older siblings and Verdura IV couldn't find the archives of those siblings and their backgrounds.
  • Lakutoze: Chi-Chi's alternate version in Soku's reality, therefore his wife and often being nicknamed as "Lac-Lac". Unlike Chi-Chi, Lac-Lac is quite tolerant toward Soku's alien heritage and origins, she even accepts her husbands abd sons' transformations unlike her regular counterpart. Physically, she is slightly taller than Chi-Chi and has an athletic build because she keeps training unlike her counterpart. Rather than having black hair, Lac-Lac has a dark bluish tint in the left side of her hair and she also unties her hair rather than knotting it in a bun.
  • Hango: The eldest son of the Gon Family, the most harsh and energetic of the brothers. Because he was inspired by Soku's rebellious teenager phase, Hango decided to shave his hair shorter in order to look like his father and also distinguish himself of him. For most of his life, he was seen as a "bad boy" but per the suggestion of his family, he decided to change his ways (still remained harsh however). Married with Lili, they have a daughter named Fauna.
    • Lili: Daughter of Sir Iblis and Hango's wife, in which Soku respects a lot because of her martial art skills and vigilantism in the city. Unlike her regular counterpart, she never cut her hair and she works as an actress and is quite boastful and loud-mouthed, embracing the side of her father. But she also has a soft side like her mother, when it comes for family matters.
      • Fauna: Daughter of Hango and Lili, Gon Soku's granddaughter although he never had the chance to witness her grow. Hango mostly tells Fauna about her grandfather's feats in the form of story tales before going to sleep. Fauna's dream is to become like her father while training as a martial artist, inspired by her grandfather's stories.
  • Tengo: The younger brother, the most calm and wise of the brothers. Always honest and genuine about his feelings, though shy when it comes to speaking with girls.

Friends/Allies[]

  • Shokurin:
  • Master Tortuga: Also known as "Turtle Sensei" or "Perverse Tortoise".
  • Ottavino:
  • King Verdura IV: Rather than a fierce rival holding an immense grudge, this version of Vegeta is more cool-headed and among Soku's greatest friends. Unlike Vegeta, he became King of the Verdurians following his father's retirement of the throne since the latter was never slain by Furowa. He is more pacific than his mainline counterpart, appreciating his wife's efforts for the family and treating his son with good care. He often lives on Earth since meeting Shorts. Upon hearing the death of Soku, it is rumored King Verdura IV mourned his friend for several years until he started to accept his friend's passing.
  • Shorts:
  • Bokser:

Rivals/Enemies[]

  • Furowa: The tyrant from the Glacier Planes has a great hatred against Verdurians for various reasons and Gon Soku is no exception.
  • Goku Black (Masked): This version of Goku Black entered into Gon Soku's reality and challenged the protector in a duel to death, as part of Black's plan to eradicate 99 versions of Son Goku in order to kill them all to enact his bloodthirsty revenge but also to fully master his stolen body and finally manipulating it's true potential for his own nefarious goals and plans.

Trivia[]

  • This version of Son Goku is among the 99 different incarnations of Goku who were victims by the Crimson-Masked Saiyan's rampage through various different realities. Gon Soku is the 28th Goku slain by Crimson but managed to hold his own ground for a longer time than most other Gokus, proving to be a match for the masked imposter.
    • Among all the Son Gokus the Crimson-Masked Saiyan fought, Soku is among those he had the most difficulty to deal with because of Soku's unexpected arsenal of weaponry, skills, techniques and abilities that differs vastly from other Gokus. Black even noted from this fight he will be more careful in the future and never underestimate any future versions of Son Goku.
    • Gon Soku is also one of the few incarnations of Son Goku which Crimson resort on the usage of cheap tricks and surprise attacks in order to gain the upperhand: the Masked Saiyan was struggling so greatly, he had to focus on trickery by using deceiving blows in desperation and erractic behavior, something Soku himself noted during their fight. While bitter for using such tricks, Crimson would often remind his confrontation against Soku as a reminder to himself for assassinating other Gokus.
