Planet Saiyan (Sadala) is divided between a thick, uplifted western continental plate and a thinner eastern plate that slopes toward the Eastern Sea. Their collision forms the Eastern Sadalan Mountains, farther west, earlier uplift and crustal thickening formed the Western Sadalan Mountains, an older, higher system dominated by Mount Sadala, the tallest peak on the planet. Between these western ranges lies the Scar Sea Basin, a vast tectonic depression that traps runoff and feeds the inland Scar Sea, isolated from the world ocean by surrounding highlands. The east also contains the Coastal Plains where modern Saiyan civilization emerged and continues to thrive, anchored by Oozarum, the Saiyan capital city situated along the coast.
